Meeting Owen

Today my mom, Addy and I got to meet Owen. He is precious and so tiny. He was such a good baby just as quiet as could be the whole visit we were there. Keira and Addy played and Keira loved her shirt that my mom brought her back from Florida. She wanted to put it on right away. So adorable! Addy and Keira had fun chasing each other and Keira was trying to help Addy say Mama. We can't wait to see Owen again. Enjoy the pictures!

Welcome Owen Daniel Battershield

While we were in Florida my good friend Natalie had her second child a baby boy. He weighed in at 7lbs 1 oz and was 18 inches long. I am hoping to meet him later this week. We are so happy for Natalie and Justin and we know Keira will be a great big sister.

Florida Vacation

We just got back from Florida on Saturday and it was a great trip. We missed Jay a lot, but Addy really loved the water and was not afraid at all of the water. She was so brave. I was so proud of her. We were able to go to Fort Myers Beach two times this trip which was good since Addy wasn't feeling so well the first time we went there. We went down to the ocean the same ocean I swam in when I was her age and she LOVED it. She had the BIGGEST smile on her face whenever the waves would come. It was great to be able to see her smile on her face on the same beach that my sisters and brother grew up loving. I am blessed to have a family that loves my daughter so much. There was never a time on our trip when I had to worry about who would play with Addy. I think one of the neatest things for me to see is how my brother was with her. He was so amazing with her and she loves being with him. He just has so much patience with her and just has this calmness about him when he is with her. It is really too precious for words. Enjoy the pictures. Warning there is a lot so I may post in two different posts.

Visit with Friends

This past Friday we met up with an old friend of mine Kailey and her daughter Aleah. It was so great to get in touch with her again. Arlyn and her two kids came over too so it was great to see them as well. Addison and Mya had fun playing each other and Kailey's mom had a whole little area of things for the kids to play with so we could visit and catch up. It was a great visit and I hope we can all get together again when Kailey comes back to town. I know we will all keep up with our friendships and are so glad we all got back in touch! Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful day! I was treated to a really nice day. I was able to stay in bed till 9:30 today which is a HUGE thing. Then I came downstairs to a starbucks coffee and Jay making breakfast. I got a beautiful card and necklace with Addy's birthstone. It is perfect. We went over to see my grandparents with my sister and when I was gone Jay cleaned the whole house. Talk about a nice present. Jay really went above and beyond making sure I had a great day!
Here are some pictures from our day.

Florida Memories

I can't help but think about past Florida trips with our trip to Florida this year coming up so quickly. I usually get a little sad around this time thinking about all the time we went to my grandparents house on Fort Myers Beach and how they are no longer with us. Those times were filled with so many wonderful and memorable times that it is hard NOT to think about them. I have to say how lucky we are that my parents have a place down in the same area where we vacationed for so many years, but it also makes me sad that Addy won't be able to experience the exact same experiences that I was fortunate to experience when I was her age.

-Waking up to look out on that amazing view of the ocean as you see the morning walkers walk the beach
-Grapefruits that my Boppa always left out for all of us at the kitchen table for breakfast where he was always sitting at reading the paper
-Feeding the seagulls right out in front of the house (okay not always a favorite thing, but I did enjoy watching other people feed them) :)
-Walking to breakfast down to the GulfShore and always looking out for dolphins or other types of animals
-Sitting on the deck and watching the sunset as we would eat crackers and Port Wine cheese that my grandmother(Muz) would always bring out
-Of course one of the big memories was getting engaged right in front of my grandparents beach house, Jay knew how important that place was for me and now forever our engagement will always be tied to that place

I really have so many wonderful memories, but one of my most favorite would have to be whenever we would be arriving at the beach, Boppa and Muz were always so excited to see us and they would be right there when we opened the door. We could really feel how happy they were to have us there. I know that my brother, sisters and I were so lucky to have experienced vacations in Fort Myers Beach and glad that we still vacation nearby so we can still go to the Gulf Shore Grill for those famous breakfasts that Boppa used to always take us too. In a way Addy still gets some of that experience and of course even more because my parents make sure that we always have the most fun-filled vacations.
Enjoy these pictures that I was able to find. The first one is me at 2 years old. There aren't too many since we didn't have digital cameras back then.

Tagged

We were tagged by my friend Alison Hunt. I guess I am supposed to find 5 random things about myself that not many people know.

-I went to prom all four years of highschool
-I love Frankie Avalon ever since I saw him and Annette Funicello in all those beach movies.
-I was a HUGE fan of the New Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel for years and even met some of the castmembers
-Performed with a College Music Group in New Orleans in 1998
-I have this talent of anytime I watch a movie/tv show/commercial anything and if there is an actor/actress that looks familiar but noone else can come up with where they are from. I will think about it like crazy just so I can figure out where they are from. I do it all the time and my husband just looks at me with the look of how the heck did you know that?

I know tag The Kauffman Family, The Smith Family, The Simmons Family, and The Holdaas Family

Addy's New Chore

Addy found out yesterday that she can help load the washer. I can just give her a basket of clothes and she can throw them all in the washer for me. She was so proud of herself. I just had to share.

Almost Florida time

Addy and I are getting really excited about going to Florida in less than a week! I am excited to see how Addy will react when we get into the warm weather and can go swimming every day. Luckily we have a lifejacket and water shoes for her because she is going to be all over the place this year which will be a lot different than last year. Here are some new pictures from this week. We were over at my parents house on Wednesday and Addy went swinging with Nonna on a neighbors swing. She loved it. The picture I posted is my favorite. Also my brother is home for the summer so of course before he went home he wanted to stop by our house to see Addy. She was excited to see him and recognized him even though he had a little bit longer hair than the last time we saw him.

Finally some nice weather!!!

So the past two days Addy and I have been taking advantage of this nice weather. Yesterday we went to the park by our house and ended up running into an old highschool friend of mine. He was there with his son and it was so good to see them. Today we ran a bunch of errands in the morning and then met my friend Arlyn and her kids Mya and Jimmy at a park by her house and then ended up going to another park too. Addy definitly had fun being outside and burned off a lot of energy. She is really such a happy and busy little girl. We feel so blessed to have her. I thank god every minute that I get to spend with her. When we got back to our house we put on some music and danced and seeing her expression on her face when I was dancing with her was priceless!
So here are some pictures from our last two days! Hopefully this is just the start of the warm weather!
