Prayers for Jackson

We are asking everyone to keep The Broich Family in their hearts and prayers. Jackson will be having brain surgery tomorrow morning and this sweet little boy is only 2 years old. My heart is just breaking because I feel so helpless, all we can do is keep them in our prayers and pray for a quick recovery for Jackson. His parents need all the support they can get right now! We love you guys!

Addy's Art Night

Last night was Addy's Art Night at her school. She informed me the night before that Daddy was taking her. I said okay I guess that is fair since Mommy gets to go to your Start Student at school next week and Daddy can't. She is like yes that works. Gotta love her! Also Addy has a little crush on a boy at school and she talks about him all the time. Last night Tyler was there and she told Tyler that her Dad wanted to talk to him. Tyler responded with "Uh Oh" Gotta love it! Check out the pictures!

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Allen

We were sad that we had to miss my cousin Alex's wedding to Ali, but seeing the pictures my parents sent me made me feel like we were there. We are so happy for them and look forward to hopefully celebrating with them soon!!

Kindergarten: A Year of New Beginnings

So I was not ready for this day to come. This past Thursday I attended parent orientation for Addy. Can I just say how overwhelmed I was? I know Addy is more than ready for kindergarten, but the question is am I? I always thought that this day was so far away that I never had to think about it. I was lucky that I sat next to another friend who was experiencing this for the first time too and I have to say I am so relieved to have someone else to go through this with. My emotions are all over the place. The principal was talking about the first day of school, our kindergarten gets off the bus on her first day as she walks the halls of her new school to find her new classroom for the first time. Wow!
We were informed all the skills they will develop:
-Physical Education
-Music
-Art
-Library
-Computer Lab
The teachers answered a lot of questions to help make this night not as overwhelming as it was. We were given a bunch of handouts, supply list, what to expect, kindergarten readiness, spirit wear, PTA...the list goes on and on. Please don't get me wrong, I am so excited for this new adventure for Addy, because she is clearly ready. I also know this is just the beginning of everything she will be experiencing. She will also be gone from about 8:45-4:15!?! When I was in kindergarten it was half day and we got to ride the little bus, now it is full day and she rides the big bus.

Everyone keeps telling me how good this is and I will have this time to spend with just Austen. I will treasure that time as well, but thinking about her being gone all day brings tears to my eyes. I will not have her around during lunch asking me for more grapes or if she can finish off the rest of Austen's sandwich. She is such a special little girl, I feel blessed that I get to be her mom every day. How did I get so lucky to get these two amazing kids because they are amazing in every way. I also have to say two of the cutest kids.

This is only the beginning of our journey to get her ready for kindergarten, but it is coming up faster that we would all like. Addy of course can not wait to go visit her school for the first time, to meet her teacher and see who is in her class. She is such a people person and just loves life. We could all be so lucky to see life thru the eyes of a child, everything is always new and exciting.

Now a picture!

I thought a picture would be great after I just posted the last entry. They were both being so cute yesterday and Austen just kept wanting to hug Addy. I just kept snapping the camera!

Our Kids

It has been awhile since I have actually blogged and not just posted pictures. Addison and Austen have been changing so much lately and so fast...faster than I would like. Let's start with Addison.

She is 5 1/2 now and in 4 short months our baby will be entering kindergarten...full day kindergarten. I can't even think about it without tearing up. I still remember when she was just learning to walk and now she will be walking onto a school bus leaving me from 8:45 to 4:15...how is that even possible. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it. I have to stop. She has learned so much this past year at her preschool. She has learned how to write her name and many other words. She knows all her numbers and has learned all about the days of the week. I feel that everyday she comes home from school and has learned something else new. She is always so excited to go to school and she loves her teachers so much. I feel truly blessed that she was able to be in this class in order to prepare her for her very long day of kindergarten. She recently did a pom and cheer camp at my work and I was able to watch her performance. The performance was so darn cute and she was so proud of what she had done. It really took me back to when I was little. I see so much of me in her.
Addy is also a wonderful big sister to Austen. I love how they have such a bond, even though they do fight at times, he looks up to her so much. I know she is going to miss him so much when she is at school. She tells me though she has to go to school so she can learn new things, but that she will come back. How grown up is that? I am going to so miss my little girl.

Austen is an amazing 2 year old boy. I have to say that when I gave birth to him, I was not sure what I was going to do with a boy. I had my doubts, I was used to pink, purple and dolls. Although now since Austen has been growing up I have been introduced to trains, cars, dinosaurs, and I am okay with it. He has grown so much since he was 1. He talks and communicates so well. He understands when I tell him something. His little voice melts my heart. Every morning when I go in to get him, he greets me with a smile and says "Hi Mama" or lately when I go in and say "Good morning Austen" he responds with "Morning Mama". How did I get so lucky? He is always so happy and loves just being a kid and being with his family. One thing that has been hard is he has been going thru a hitting phase and it has been affecting my work. Let me rephrase other people are affecting my work. Austen is a 2 year old boy going thru a typical toddler phase and some people just don't get it. I have had to adjust where I am at work to watch him and make sure he isn't hitting anyone, but he does love to just be around other kids and be a kid. He also loves his sister. He always asks where Sissy is when she isn't around or at school. He loves dropping her off at school and says "Bye Sissy" his new thing is saying "See you soon", which he has gotten from Mickey Mouse. :)
Jay and I are so blessed to have two amazing children, we don't know if we will have another kid or not, but what we do know is that we are two of the luckiest parents in the world to have two healthy, happy kids. We couldn't love them anymore if we tried.

They make our hearts melt and put a smile on our face every day.

Pom and Cheer Camp

Addy was lucky enough and was able to do the Pom and Cheer camp at my work and she LOVED it. Her best friend Abby was in it and they had a blast! Check out the pictures!

Brookfield Zoo

We have been busy lately so it is hard to keep up with the blog. We recently went to the Zoo and the kids were so excited. The treat was that we were able to see the Dolphin Show this time. It was a big hit by all. Check out our pictures!
