MEGA BLOKS

Yesterday Jay and I took Addison shopping for something since she got a gift card for her birthday. It really amazes me how many different things are out there now for kids Addy's age, it even more amazes me the people that pay the money for those things. We were really trying to let her pick out something that she wanted since she can tell us what she wants these days. Our mission was to find one of the Ni Hao Kai-Lan figures. She was on a mission to find a character named Hoho. Many of you readers may already be lost if your child isn't into the Noggin channel, okay I am losing you even more. Anyway we went on the search for this Hoho character who we later found out after having Addy point to the character on one of the boxes is a monkey. We looked all over for it and the only thing we could find was a Hoho stuffed character that you can latch onto a backpack and it was around $6. I couldn't believe that this little thing was $6. We let her hold it for awhile, but finally she got her interest into something else so we put it back.

The toy we were really looking to get Addy was some blocks, Legos to be specific, but Jay and I couldn't believe how expensive Legos are?!?! We decided to move on and look at another brand called MEGA BLOKS. I have seen these at a friend's house before and Addy really enjoyed playing with them so when I saw them in the store I was excited to see that Addison liked them too. They are pretty competitive in price and definitely more reasonable than Legos. The more we looked at Legos I noticed that even though they had sets for younger kids the pieces were still a little bit too small and could already see them getting lost.

We decided on the Mega Wagon in pink of course. This wagon came with 20 pieces which Jay and I both thought was more than enough blocks to start her collection. If parents out there haven't seen them or are looking for some blocks to get there child they should really look into the MEGA Brand lines. The MEGA Brand lines start out for ages 0 and up. I did some research on their website and found so many cute sets for babies to toddlers. One of the lines that I am very interested in is their Disney line, big surprise I know. They have the cutest sets and the best thing is there are no real little pieces. I am already looking into Christmas presents.

Work From Home

Many of you know that I work part time at a health club in the daycare which has been a true blessing for us, but I am currently looking for something else to do on top of this that I am able to do from home. I am not really sure what that would be, maybe data entry or I have no idea? I am just letting people I know just in case they hear of anything. I would appreciate it! I trained for a couple of months to do medical billing, but then that kind of fell thru. Anyway let me know if you hear of anything.

I love scrapbooking
Ok so I have gotten into Scrapbooking even more ever since I went to a Creative Memories party with my friend Arlyn. The stuff is on the pricey side, but I don't have a problem just using my own stuff that I buy at random stores. I am really into it especially since I have a friend that is really into it. When I say into it , I mean she has so much stuff I don't know how she keeps track of everything. We are going to try to do weekly scrapbooking nights at her house. I am looking forward to a little "me" time. With being pretty much a stay at home mom things can get crazy at times and sometimes you just need that mom time! Thankfully Jay is understanding and knows that this is my own outlet to have time to myself and relax. I really want to keep it up as much as I can and I think these weekly scrapbooking nights will help me for sure. It is really important I feel for everyone to have a hobby or something that they like to do. Even moms need some time by themselves.

Oh my God.....

Okay so my new favorite actress has to be Kristen Wiig on Saturday night live. I have seen so many hilarious clips of her and they just make me literally laugh out loud. Here are a couple of my favorites. Enjoy!

BODYFLOW

Well today I tried something new. My sister Katie is training to become a BODYFLOW instructor at the local healthclub and asked if I would take the class today. I have to say I was a little nervous about the whole thing considering I have never taken BODYFLOW before, but it was pretty fun and I can definitly feel a workout. Some of you may have not heard about bodyflow before and this is the definition that is given on the Lesmills website.

BODYFLOW™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates workout that leaves you feeling long, strong, centered and calm. It’s your personal time out from the stress and strains of daily life – a 55-minute group exercise-to-music class that enhances your physical and mental well-being.

It is pretty amazing and she did an excellent job teaching it and is really great at it. If you are ever given the option to try it at your healthclub I would suggest at least trying it out.

Letter to Me

Today my mom and I heard Brad Paisley's song Letter to Me about 3 different times and it just reminds me of how true this song really is. I have always been a big fan of his. His music and lyrics seem to hit different things/times in your life head on. He has written funny songs "Celebrity" and "Online" and very moving songs like "She's Everything", who he wrote for his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley and "Two People Fell in Love" I think it is his song "Letter to Me" that I wish was a song back when I was in highschool. I could have used it. I did have good time in highschool, but I have to admit there were times when I thought my life was over(breakup with a boyfriend) or I didn't know how I was going to make it thru another year of highschool. I guess you could say I was probably a little dramatic back then. Although, I think a lot of highschool kids are like that. I remember many times on how what was going on at that moment was going to forever change my life when really the best was yet to come.

I wanted to post the lyrics from this amazing song, because I think it is too good not to share. I wanted to post the song or video on our site, but couldn't figure out how to do that. If you are interested in seeing the video you can go to this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fqtbMHfpXY I think the video is very cute too. There are a lot of other Brad Paisley videos listed that I highly recommend as well.

If I could write a letter to me and send it back in time to myself at 17
First I'd prove it's me by saying look under your bed
There's a Skoal can and a Playboy no one else would know you hid
And then I'd say I know it's tough when you break up after seven months
And yeah, I know you really liked her, and it just don't seem fair
All I can say is pain like that is fast, and it's rare.

Chorus:
And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17, it's hard to see past Friday night
She wasn't right for you
And still you feel like there's a knife sticking out of your back
And you're wondering if you'll survive*but*
You'll make it through this and you'll see
You're still around to write this letter to me.

At the stop sign at Tomlinson and Eighth
Always stop completely
Don't just tap your brakes
And when you get a date with Bridget
Make sure the tank is full
On second thought forget it
That one turns out kinda cool
Each and every time you have a fight
Just assume you're wrong and dad is right
And you should really thank Mrs. Brinkman
She spent so much extra time
It's like *she sees* the diamond underneath
And she's polishing you 'til you shine.

Chorus:
And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17 it's hard to see past Friday night
Tonight's the bonfire rally but you're staying home instead
Because if you fail algebra, mom and dad will kill you dead *but*
Trust me you'll squeak by and get a C
And you're still around to write this letter to me.

You've got so much *up* ahead
You'll make new friends, you should see your kids and wife
And I'd end by saying have no fear
These are nowhere near the best years of your life.

I guess I'll see you in the mirror
When you're a grown man
P.S. go hug Aunt Rita every chance you can.

Chorus:
And oh, you got so much going for you, going right
But I know at 17, it's hard to see past Friday night
I wish you'd study Spanish
I wish you'd take a typing class
I wish you wouldn't worry, let it be
I'd say have a little faith, and you'll see.

If I could write a letter to me, to me...

Resolutions

I am not one for making resolutions but I thought being that I turn 30 this year...ouch that is even hard to type. I just thought it was time to start sticking to some resolutions. I think in all it would make me a happier person. So I will list some of them that I have now, but may add some.

1) Learn to let things go
2) Not hold grudges
3) Try not to worry too much
4) Exercise more
5) Try new recipes a couple times a month
6) Keep better in contact with friends
7) Be more easy going

I know this is only I start, but I feel good about it!
